Cheers to 5 years!

We are celebrating this year with a camp trip up the north coast of Cali. We meet up with the Weissers today in Carmel for one last holiday together!

Remi is 5 months!

 Highlights from this little guy at 5 months:

- He is very close to sitting up on his own! He can sit for a few seconds before falling over.

- He reaches for my face and wants to give me big kisses- or perhaps just slobber on my nose. 

- His grip is strong and he knows where to reach for my necklace, and knows he can get a good grip of hair as i'm leaning over the crib to pick him up. 

- He smiles really big, and sometimes it's a shy smile. 

- He does a 'happy scream' if there is such a thing like he is discovering his vocal chords for the first time.

- He is interested in the kitty, and gave her his first pat this morning

- When he gets really excited, he puts both hands in his mouth. He is pretty sure that 6-7 fingers is the right amount to have in his mouth at any given time. 

- He is showing signs of teething, and as of the past week or so, he is acting pretty interested in food. 

- He is still very big for his age, wearing 6-9 month clothes and growing out of those at a rapid rate.  

- And best of all his expressions through out the day are so funny. J and I are pretty sure he must know a secret that we don't know... He's such a little character!

Visiting Denise and the Hawks!

 Check out Denise's new world! Living in the mountains of Alpine and working as a falconer. It was really awesome to see her in her element. Denise and Kirk took us on an evening 'Hawk walk.' We brought our new 6 man tent and stayed overnight. Thank you Denise for a special evening!

Just for fun

This little guy is getting so big. How does it happen so fast? He is giggling, and so interactive these days. Couldn't ask for a more adorable addition to our family.

Sequoia with the Weissers

One of the best perks of living in Southern Cali is that we have been able to see the Weissers a lot over the past 3 years. They will be moving to Germany for their next tour, and leave Cali on Oct 1st. We will miss them so much but have loved the quality time together at our mini-holiday weekends. We spent the last part of July in Sequoia National Park. Such a perfect weekend together!

 We rented this sweet little cabin overlooking a small heard of cattle, a huge mountain and a lake.
It made for some great porch rocking, and sunsets.

 spicy margs were on the menu for our weekend. The key is to infuse the tequila with 5 jalepenos for 5 days. Ummmm so delicious!

 We celebrated Ben's 4th birthday together the day we returned to Hanford. Happy B day little guy!

 And Bethy was the rock star mom that made his cake, and decorated it like darth vader. Thank you Weissers for a fabulous weekend. Looking forward to the grand finale at Carmel, CA in 2 weeks.
